MATCH REPORT: Vision bounce back with win over Young Wise.
5 April 2018
A special strike from Abdul Fatawu Hamidu was enough to grab the maximum points for Vision FC at home. The pacey striker run past his markers and arrowed a shot into the left corner past the Young Wise goalkeeper. It was an all-important goal which brought Viric's side back on track after a disappointing match day 2 game losing one nil at home to Uncle 'T' United FC.
The 'Eewo' lads almost drew first blood after Frank Kwame Oppong was brought down at the edge of the penalty resulting in a free-kick, Abdu- Aziz Nurudeen's effort missed the post by an inch. That set the home side into a positive start to life in the week 3 encounter.
Melike Dzado was nearly called to action minutes later after the visitors effected a well-taken free-kick which could have led to a goal, but Nicholas Amoakoh was resolute to head the ball away. Vision started to raise their tempo - Ababio and Offei linking up twice in quick succession - before Hamidu got across his man to test the visitors' goalkeeper with a thunderbolt from Nurudeen’ cross.
The first half ended with few chances after Hamidu’s effort as the two sides got into a fierce midfield battle. Skipper Wisdom Ameded nearly broke the deadlock moments after recess - heading a ball from Nurudeen’s free-kick- which the visitors’ goalie grabbed with ease.
Vision FC came close once more after Hamidu’s free-kick was palmed away by the Young Wise goalie and fell just in front of the attackers but eluded everyone before the shot-stopper grabbed the ball.
Minutes later, Hamidu pierced through the visitors’ defense with a brilliant run before firing past the goalkeeper to grab the eventual match winner.
The Amrahia-based side came close a few more times but failed to utilize the chances before the blast of the final whistle.
Vision moved to fourth after the three rounds of games and will trek to Akosombo to face Krystal Palace on Sunday in a week 4 fixture.
