Oppong's spectacular back flick brings Vision FC back to winning ways
15 April 2018
The Eewo lads passed a major test at home as they bounce back to winning ways after their 3-2 defeat to Krystal Palace away in Akosombo.
Abdul Fatawu Hamidu's early goal in the space of five minutes gave Viric's boys a flying start as they looked to catch up with current league leaders Heart of Lions.
Chances were few after the deadlock as both team's showcased great display of midfield battle. Vision FC were forced to make an early substitution following Captain Wisdom Ameded's failure to continue the game due to injury - Viric brought on Nicholas Amoakoh.
The Lions started well in the second half mounting a few pressures on Vision FC which paid off in the fifty-third minute.
A long ball was sent to Samed Adams who turned his marker inside out on the left before delivering a perfect pass to Patrick Fia who hit it to the blind side of Melike Dzado to grab the equalizer.
Few minutes later, Vision FC were awarded a free-kick in a very dangerous area after dribbler Abdul Fatawu Hamidu was fouled at the left side of the Lions' penalty box.
Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen passed the ball to Amoakoh who pushed the ball a bit forward to latch on, but his feeble shot fell in front of unmarked Frank Kwame Oppong whose back flick beat the goalie to grab the eventual match-winner in style.
The youngster came close to hit the double moments later, but his attempt missed the post by inches. Vision FC continues attempts to kill the game went futile as the away team's defense stood firm to deny them more goals.
The end results meant the Eewo boys return to winning ways after the away defeat suffered at Akosombo in Week 4.
