Vision thump Nania in DOL opener

25 March 2018

Two well-taken first half goals by Abdul Hamidu Fatawu and Gideon Ofori Offei and a second half goal from substitute Frank Kwame Oppong ensured that Vision FC kept their 100% match day one away win record intact.

Vision FC started the damaging work right from the blast of the whistle with a couple of attacking plays; club’s top scorer Gideon Ofori Offei came very close to breaking the deadlock in the opening five minutes – running past his two markers before hitting a feeble shot which the goalie grabbed with so much ease. Chances were many in the early stages of the game with Viric’s side dictating the pace of the cagey encounter which resulted in two first half goals.

In the build up to the first goal, Abraham Laryea’s surging run resulted in a free kick after he was illegally heckled down few yards away from the center line. Abdul Hamidu Fatawu connected well with Nicholas Amoakoh’s cross which he easily tapped in to break the jinx. Five minutes later, right back Nicholas Amoakoh for the second time in the game delivered a tailor-measured cross from the right flank which got to Offei in the box before the latter scored his first of the season.

Nania FC pulled one back with just four minutes to end the first half after a moment of forgetfulness in the away team’s defense. Goalkeeper Melike Dzado failed to communicate well with his defenders who unsuccessfully cleared a floating ball from the left side of defense.

The Amrahia based side held their nerves after the recess despite the home team piling pressure on them in search of the needed equalizer. Substitute Frank Kwame Oppong sealed the victory in a grand style with a cool finish, tapping in Abdul Hamidu Fatawu pass just outside the penalty box. Vision will play host to Uncle ‘T’ FC at the Nii Okromansah Park, Amrahia in match day two of the ongoing 2017/2018 Division One League.
